Reassuringly busy

I’ve not blogged here for a long while. I’ve got to say, when I occasionally stop to think about how things are going, I’m grateful. In particular to Jose Ibanez of 3rdPlanet Studios for continuing the studio share, allowing us both to get lots done. Definitely, 2022 has seen a big boost in activity. New clients, long-standing clients, new emerging talent, new projects, old projects revisited (when you’ve been around long enough you get to remaster your old stuff eventually). But also new challenges - Pop, Metal (Thrash, Doom and Symphonic), lots of mixing from other studios, a bit of mastering, mixing drums for drum-cover videos, further work with ongoing albums, prog, electronica, indie rock. Still getting behind the kit occasionally; I imagine I will keep going until I can no longer haul the traps case into the lift!

It’s been exciting to work with new artists and particularly great to have a great many new enquiries from personal recommendations. Long may it continue….

Exciting to see the successes and the milestones. (A band recently went from their first proper session to release and radio play within the space of two weeks.)

It’s easy to forget, as we move from one focus to the next, how much quality material is just waiting to get released and be heard. Keep an ear out!
